During the summer and on school holidays child / adult / family trips will be
offered. These trips will include:

-One and two week backpacking trips
-Canoe and raft trips
-Car camping at National and State parks and monument areas
-Backpack into a site in the wilderness and staying there for a week,
doing day hikes in the area

These trips will be open to all age participants. On some trips there will be
package rates for families to make it easier for them all to participate. These trips
can serve as first adventures for kids out on their own, bonding trips for parents
and children, and a chance to meet new people. These are trips open to all ability
levels.

Adventure Learning will work with any club, church group, student group,
business, organization, family or group of friends to design a trip specific to your
group's needs. You can pick a specific location, type of location, time of year, and
type of accommodations (camping in tents, car camping, yurts, teepees, cabins or
a lodge).

Nature can be one of the most inspiring venues for thinking creatively out of the
box. Take your team out into the field and mix learning about a natural area,
relaxing or challenging recreational activities, and important business work. Often
a fine mix of playing hard and working hard can really pay off. Choose a location
where you camp in tents in the backcountry or stay in a rustic wilderness cabin or
yurt. For a less rustic experience choose to stay in a location with a lodge.

Here is a chance to take a group of children, whether they are a church youth
group, school class, student government, or school club and have a bonding
experience in nature.

The Adventure Learning staff is trained to conduct leadership activities as well as
teaching about the natural world.  We have many bonding activities that will work
with many different types of groups. We are also adept at blending the activities
that your group wants to accomplish and our leadership and natural history
activities. Choose a location where you camp in tents in the backcountry or stay
in a rustic wilderness cabin or yurt.  For a less rustic experience choose to stay in
a location with a lodge.

Do you have a family reunion coming up? How about a group of friends that you
want to pull together? Maybe a child's birthday party? Want your teen and a
group of friends to have a taste of freedom and still be safe? This type of trip is
perfect for you. The natural environs of a National Park or wilderness area are
perfect for these types of events. Choose a location where you camp in tents in
the backcountry or stay in a rustic wilderness cabin or yurt.  For a less rustic
experience choose to stay in a location with a lodge

Throughout the year adult only (18 and up) trips will be offered. Weekend and
holiday trips also will be offered. The purpose of these trips is to be a getaway for
parents, and a chance for adult level dialogue in a natural environment. It will be
a chance for professionals and college students alike to unwind and recharge
while learning a little history, ecology, geology, and weather. These trips will be
limited to 11 participants.

It is my belief that every child should have an outdoor school experience. An
outdoor school experience is a week long, fun, academic adventure into the
natural world. It is held in a wild or semi-wild place, where the students stay in
cabins, and they are taught by trained naturalists with their teachers as
supervisors. They do many interdisciplinary interactive activities throughout the
week based on ecology, geology, culture and history. Food, housing and
instruction are included.

This program is adapted for upper high school students, but is open to anyone in
the community. The focus is learning the ecology of northern Idaho, focusing on
the interactions between plants, animals, and their physical environment. We will
use tested curriculum such as Project WILD, Learning Tree, and WET, as well as
Joseph Cornell activities to teach children and adults in a fun and interactive way.
In addition to learning the natural history the participants will also learn the
cultural history of the area, and become Red Cross CPR and First Aid qualified.
High school and college students will receive credit for their 70 hours of training
and volunteer time. This program will be grant funded and free for the
participants.
